The Sydney Mini Maker Faire is part of the Sydney Science Festival a celebration of Sydney’s scientific credentials across 100 events in venues all over the city.
To kick off Sydney Science Festival on 11 August, the Powerhouse Museum doors will be flung open for a FREE, adults-only science celebration of astronomical proportions!
Roll up your sleeves and take part in some intriguing, hands-on science encounters with local Sydney scientists from various institutions and organisations, or just relax and enjoy the entertainment, food and drinks.
Hear from special guest astrophysicist Dr Alan Duffy, speed meet a geek (or two), encounter some of Australia’s favourite animals with Taronga Zoomobile, drive a Mars rover, enjoy curator tours of some of the Museum’s exhibitions, escape a virtual reality panic room, play periodic table scrablle, take part in hands-on activities, enjoy science-inspired dance and music, dine on drinks from the bar and snacks from the Junction cafe, plus so much more!
There’s plenty to see, make and do and entry is FREE. So kick back, enjoy the music and have a bite to eat with drink in hand.
