The Sydney Mini Maker Faire, presented by the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, will return to the Powerhouse Museum for its third year, this time as part of the inaugural Sydney Science Festival. The Sydney Mini Maker Faire will showcase new processes and innovations not only in the areas of science and technology, but also in design, manufacturing, engineering, and even the creative and decorative arts.

Applications close Midnight Tuesday 21 July 2015.

Maker Faire is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the world-wide Maker movement. A place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning.

Maker Faires are primarily designed to be forward-looking, showcasing Makers who are exploring new forms and new technologies. But it’s not just for the novel in technical fields; Maker Faire features innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft.

Applications are open to individuals, groups, schools and other organisations, whether you’re interested in just demonstrating your invention or perhaps selling it as well!

For the first time at the Sydney Mini Maker Faire, participation is free to non-profit and community-based makers and groups. If you would like to sell any merchandise or creations at the Sydney Mini Maker Faire, you are welcome to do so as a “Commercial Maker”, at a fee of $200. Public Liability Insurance is also required for all stallholders.

Please check out the Terms and Conditions and Frequently Asked Questions which apply to all Sydney Maker Faire exhibitors and projects. You can also contact us at sydneyminimakerfaire@maas.museum
