To newcomers, the maker movement can be a daunting concept to wrap one’s head around. To start with, what is a “maker”? Are they the same as a hacker, or a tinkerer? Do they have to use technology? Aren’t we all makers in some form or another?
To start off the second Sydney Mini Maker Faire, 2014 Faire Coordinator Daniel Green and Peter Mahony, Manager of Learning and Technologies for the Powerhouse Museum will spend half an hour talking about their experience working together on the first Sydney Mini Maker Faire in 2013, and the wealth of experince that the Maker community has brought to their work.
For those looking for an inroad into a fascinating community, this informal chat will be a great place to start.
