Unassuming as it may be, this robot packs a laser range-finder, a Kinect, infrared distance sensors and sonar distance senders. It aims to navigate and map outdoor environments, this is Alexbot.
According to its creator Alex McClung, Alexbot has “an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Barometer, GPS and Wheel encoders [which] are used for position estimation. A Dual-core Mini-ITX Linux computer running the ROS framework handles most of the Processing and an Arduino Mega is used for the GPIO.”
