CALL FOR MAKERS

Applications are now open to be part of Sydney’s first Maker Faire at the Powerhouse Museum on Sunday 24 November 2013.

Applications close 5pm Friday 18 October 2013.

Maker Faire is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the world-wide Maker movement. A place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning.

Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters, scientists to garage tinkerers, and all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.

From robotics, electronics and gaming to textile, arts and crafts, and everything in between, Sydney Mini Maker Faire is the perfect platform to share your home-grown design, project or product.

  1. Hi there. I make delectable preserves picking all the produce from my friends organic farms in the hills where I live and creating unique flavour combinations. Is that fit you criteria. Their very good.
I couldn’t get there to man a stall so having someone else on a stall would that do right? Hope to hear back. Steve.

    • Hi Steve. We’re interested in all kinds of projects, including delectable preserves. Feel free to submit an application to us, as it definitely fits within our criteria. Something to keep in my though is that the spirit of Mini Maker Faires involves sharing with others the process with which these projects are developed and made. So if you needed to send someone else to represent the preserves, it would be very important that they were able to speak to your process. Hope that helps!

  2. Is there a timeline for the review of applications? I know they only closed last Friday but we have received no confirmation email or any updates after submitting our application.

    • Hi Steven, thanks for contacting us. We’ll be informing all applicants of the outcome of their submissions by next Wednesday October 30. You’ll find a little more information about this on our Frequently-Asked Questions page. We apologise if this has caused some confusion for you, and we’ll drop all applicants a line today to make sure they’re aware of this.
